
Junior Program
The Junior Golf Strength and Conditioning Program, led by experienced professional Lee Hatfield, PTA, TPI Level 2 medical certified, and a seasoned coach, is designed to enhance the physical abilities of young golfers in a structured and effective manner. This program focuses on developing strength, power, agility, flexibility, and mobility to optimize golf performance and reduce the risk of injury.
Program Description
The Junior Golf Strength and Conditioning Program incorporates a range of training modalities to maximize the development of junior golfers. Free weights, including dumbbells and barbells, are used to improve overall strength and promote proper movement patterns. Olympic lifts, such as clean and jerk and snatches, are introduced to enhance explosive power and coordination.
Weight machines and other equipment are utilized to target specific muscle groups, ensuring balanced strength development. Plyometric exercises, involving explosive movements like jumps and medicine ball throws, are incorporated to enhance power and athleticism. These exercises help golfers generate more clubhead speed and improve overall performance on the course.
To address the unique demands of the golf swing, the program includes golf-specific exercises that focus on core stability, rotational strength, and balance. These exercises aim to improve swing mechanics, generate more power, and enhance control over the golf club.
Additionally, mobility exercises are integrated into the program to improve joint range of motion and flexibility. Enhanced mobility allows for better body positioning during the swing, leading to improved technique and increased performance.
